E-books...yay or nay?

While my second and third grade friends were learning about Destiny, my fourth and fifth grade friends were learning about electronic books.

Part of the reasoning behind this lesson was that we already had this really cool resource in Mackinvia, but also because computerized Benchmark testing for ELA and reading in the MC was painful  for me to watch.  My kiddos needed some practice since reading online text requires a slightly different skill set than reading print.

Students were also asked to give their opinion of eBooks in a short paragraph.  I really enjoyed reading the responses.  A wide variety of opinions, with the supporting rationale are on display in the hallway should you care to take a look.

As for my personal opinion?  As much as I love the feel and smell of a new book, the convenience factor, crystal clear display and light weight of my 7" NOOK HD means more of my "book" money is being spent on digital versions of books and magazines these days.  I merely wish the publishers would drop the prices on eBooks.  Once the book is in a digital format, there is very little cost basis associated with the sale.
