I am ecstatic to report that the Media Center is NO LONGER a part of the enrichment rotation.
After five years, the library will again return to a flexible schedule, so that teachers and students can come as needed. I am encouraged by the teachers who have already reached out to me regarding future collaborative lessons. We will figure out our new path together as we begin the transition to a full-blown Library Learning Commons. Although we have purchased some cool new furniture and partially genrefied the chapter books, there is MUCH more to be done.
My excitement is tempered with a note of sadness, as our long-time media parapro, Ms. Harris, has been reassigned to the computer lab. In her place, you will see Mrs. Griffin. You should recognize Mrs. Griffin from PE. She also co-sponsored the sewing club with me. Mrs. Griffin will float between PE and the Media Center.
Two other changes are coming to the library: (1) Self Check-In for Students and (2) Online Scheduling for Teachers and Staff. Orientations are set to begin no later than 8/12. We need to finish inventory and shift some things around before we open to students.
